Universitas Muhammadiyah Purworejo (UMPWR) - The Student Association (HIMA) of Agribusiness held a Seminar on Student Creativity Programme (PKM) on Thursday, 12 December 2024 yesterday. The seminar, which was held in the Seminar Room at UMPWR East Campus, was attended by 141 students from semesters 1, 3, and 5 of the Agribusiness Study Programme. This seminar carries the theme ‘The Role of Students in Society: Turning Ideas into Action’.

The seminar was officially opened and began with remarks from the Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture, Dr Roisu Eni Mudawaroh, S.Pt., M.P., who conveyed the importance of the role of students in developing creative ideas, expressing these ideas, and implementing them as well as possible. This seminar presented two main speakers. The first speaker, Isna Windani, S.P., M.Sc., as the Head of the Agribusiness Study Programme, presented material related to Conversion Guidelines at the study programme level. Meanwhile, the second speaker, Dedi Runanto, S.E., M.Si., as the Head of Student Affairs of UMPWR, gave an in-depth explanation of the Student Creativity Programme (PKM) itself.

PKM is one of the flagship programmes of the Directorate General of Higher Education (Ditjen Diktiristek) under the management of the Directorate of Learning and Student Affairs (Belmawa). This programme aims to accommodate students' creative and innovative ideas so that they can be realised in the form of real work that provides benefits to society. In this seminar, students were invited to understand the opportunities that exist in PKM as well as gain technical insights related to submitting PKM proposals. In addition, the interactive question and answer session became an important moment for participants to dig deeper information related to the selection process to the implementation of their creative ideas. This activity is expected to motivate UMPWR students to actively participate in the PKM programme at the national level. With the spirit of collaboration, innovation, and dedication, students are expected to be able to bring the good name of the campus while making a real contribution to society. (akbar/KP)
