Universitas Muhammadiyah Purworejo (UMPWR) - The Elementary School Teacher Education (PGSD) Study Program held a PGSD Media Expo entitled Gelar Karya PGSD 2024 ‘Ragam Inspirasi Wujudkan Kreasi Media Pembelajaran di Abad 21’, on Wednesday, 11 December 2024 at the Kasman Singodimejo Auditorium.
Titi Anjarini, M.Pd as the chief executive explained that this learning media expo activity is an annual agenda of PGSD which is attended by 5th semester students. This expo was attended by 35 groups, and was also attended by 1st, 3rd, and 5th semester students of PGSD Study Program. Also present as invitees were 20 representatives of teachers and elementary school students in Purworejo Regency.
‘This learning media programme is a manifestation of student creativity to create innovation and creativity, especially 5th semester students. This activity can also be a motivation for 1st and 3rd semester students to learn from their 5th semester siblings to develop their creativity in creating innovative learning media,’ explained Titi Anjarini.

Vice Dean of UMPWR's Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Dr Herlina Setyowati, M.Pd., appreciated the expo, which is held annually. The era of globalisation with many educational challenges requires quality human resources, mastering science and technology, and competing globally. ‘The innovations made through this learning media can later help and inspire teachers at school,’ she said.
UMPWR Rector, Assoc. Prof. Dr Teguh Wibowo, M.Pd., in his speech said that in the future all learning media must go through validation, do not let plagiarism occur. ‘Currently, UMPWR has issued rules regarding plagiarism, for the work of lecturers plagiarism should not be more than 25%, while students are a maximum of 40%. Including in the making of this learning media, there should also be no plagiarism’, explained the Rector.
The Rector explained that the learning media created must be innovative. If there are similarities with existing ones, they must be modified. The Rector then officially opened the PGSD Media Expo activity symbolically by beating the Gong, handing over learning media to representatives of elementary schools who were present, and going around to see 35 groups of PGSD students who made learning media.
