Universitas Muhammadiyah Purworejo (UMPWR) - The Student Association (HIMA) of the Indonesian Language and Literature Education Study Program (HMP PBSI) in collaboration with the UMPWR Entrepreneurship Division held a PKM 2025 Gagas Socialisation event at the Sucen Campus Seminar Room on Thursday, 5 December 2024. With the theme ‘Empowered Students, Triumphant Creativity in the PKM 2025 Event’, this event aims to provide an in-depth understanding of the Student Creativity Programme (PKM), assist in submitting proposals, and encourage synergy between students, HMP, and Study Programmes in improving quality through PKM.
The event, which was attended by 65 first and third semester PBSI students, began with the recitation of the Qur'an, followed by singing Indonesia Raya, Mars Muhammadiyah, and HMP PBSI Jingle. The head of the committee, Riska Amelia, in her speech expressed great hope to the participants. ‘Through this socialisation, we hope that students can develop potential and creative ideas that can compete at the national level. Let us prove that PBSI students are able to make a real contribution to the PKM 2025 event,’ she said.
The chairman of HMP PBSI, Ridho Bayu Saputro, officially opened this event with enthusiasm. ‘I hope this socialisation will inspire all of us to initiate the best work that satisfies the PBSI Study Program. By saying bismillahirrahmanirrahim, I declare the socialisation of Gagas PKM 2025 open,’ he said.
The core event presented two main speakers. The first speaker, Dedi Runanto, SE, M.Si., explained in detail about the objectives, systematic guidelines, and tips for passing PKM. In the question and answer session, students actively asked about solutions for PKM teams that faced implementation obstacles. Responding to this, Dedi gave important advice. ‘Look for a solid team, which is able to quickly solve problems if obstacles occur’.
The second speaker, Head of the PBSI Study Programme, Umi Faizah, M.Pd., motivated students to contribute more to the PKM event, especially in the field of Written Futuristic Ideas that are relevant to PBSI lecture theory. In addition, she explained the SKS conversion policy for students who successfully passed PKM to the national level. ‘If you pass PIMNAS, courses such as entrepreneurship and scientific writing can convert, even without a thesis for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners,’ he explained.
The event was interactive with ice breaking sessions in the form of exercises to make PKM titles and ended with motivation. ‘The key to success is to follow your mother, follow your teacher, follow your passion, and never be ashamed to be an outstanding student,’ concluded Umi Faizah. (akbar / KP)
