Friday, 22 November 2024 - The Student Association (HIMA) of the Law Study Program of Universitas Muhammadiyah Purworejo (UMPWR) held a Socialisation of Legal Awareness Education in the Eradication of Online Gambling in the Community at the Bapelmas Hall in Margoyoso Village, Magelang Regency. The resource person for this socialisation was UMPWR Law Study Program Lecturer who is also the Head of Domestic Cooperation of UMPWR, Galih Bagas Soesilo, S.H., LL.M..
With a total of 37 participants consisting of elements of villagers and Karang Taruna Margoyoso, as well as MA Al - Iman Margoyoso Student Council, this socialisation is very important so that people are aware of the law related to Online Gambling which is rampant lately. The Head of Margoyoso Village, Adidaya Pradana A.MD said that this education is very important and very useful because online gambling is really very troubling because of its impact ranging from property assets being sold and up to suicide. Therefore, this education is very important for the people of Margoyoso Village.
One of the socialisation participants, Mungafy, also said that this education was quite good. ‘With many millennials to gen z being participants, it indicates that their participation is one of the references for all of us to be aware of the law regarding online gambling across generations,’ he said.
