Universitas Muhamamadiyah Purworejo (UMPWR) Sports Student Activity Unit (UKM) received a gathering of Universitas Muhammadiyah Magelang (UNIMA) Sports UKM on Saturday, 16 November 2024 as a form of familiarity of the academic community through friendly matches. Badminton was chosen as an alternative sport that is economical and can be done by many people.
Yusuf as the representative of UNIMMA Sports UKM said that this gathering was a reply to the visit of UMPWR Sports UKM to Magelang last year. In line with this, Ahmadi as the head of Surya Muda Sports UKM UMPWR said that this friendship should expand not only in sports but also in other aspects.
In his speech, Dedi Runanto, S.E., M.Si., as the head of the UMPWR Student Affairs Division emphasised that Sports UKM can excel not only in sports but there is a glory in itself if you can create a sports village through the PPK Ormawa scheme. ‘You will be very cool if you succeed in building the dreams of village children and making people aware of sports through the PPK Ormawa sports village,’ said Dedi.
