Universitas Muhammadiyah Purworejo (UMPWR) - one of the lecturers of the Management Study Program, Susi Widjajani, S.E., M.Si participated in the Entrepreneurial Lecturer Training of Facilitators (ToF) held by the Ministry of Youth and Sports of the Republic of Indonesia for 3 days on Tuesday - Thursday, 5 - 7 November 2024 at the Grand Edge Hotel Semarang.
This activity was followed as an effort to improve the competence of entrepreneurship lecturers in fostering students and developing entrepreneurship in the Higher Education environment. Participants in this activity were 48 entrepreneurship lecturers from public and private universities in Central Java Province. The speakers were Susetya Herawati, Afiat Rasyid Rustamadji, Bastian Annas Saputra, and Kukuh Indra Prasena.
The 3-day event began with an opening ceremony by KEMENPORA's Deputy for Youth Entrepreneurship Programme Policy, Raden Isnanta. The activity was carried out as an effort to collaborate on mutual understanding, skills development, collaboration and partnerships related to the meaning and implementation of entrepreneurship education between practitioners and academics to reduce the value of educated unemployment in Indonesia by providing a more practical and adoptive approach to entrepreneurship education.
Raden Isnanta said, ‘'Students should no longer have the view that work is to become employees but job creators for employees, therefore in order to increase the capacity of lecturers who teach entrepreneurship courses by energising, developing enthusiasm and updating knowledge related to current entrepreneurship for lecturers as an engine for creating young entrepreneurs in Indonesia''.
