Universitas Muhammadiyah Purworejo (UMPWR) – A total of 40 students from the Faculty of Agriculture at Universitas Muhammadiyah Purworejo (UMPWR) took part in the First Graduation Ceremony of the 2026/2027 Academic Year. The graduates came from the Agribusiness and Animal Science Study Programs. The ceremony was held at Hotel Morazen, Yogyakarta.

The graduation ceremony marked an important stage for students who had completed all of their academic requirements. More than a formal recognition of graduation, the occasion also marked the beginning of a new chapter for the graduates as they prepare to enter the workforce, pursue further education, develop their own businesses, or contribute to society.

Throughout their studies at the Faculty of Agriculture, UMPWR students were equipped not only with academic knowledge but also with practical skills that can be applied in real-world settings. They were also encouraged to adapt to change, develop innovative ideas, and respond to various challenges in the agriculture and livestock sectors.

Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture UMPWR, Dr. Roisu Eny Mudawaroch, S.Pt., M.P., expressed her appreciation to all graduates for successfully completing their studies. She emphasized that graduation should not be seen as the end of learning, but rather as the beginning of a greater responsibility to put the knowledge they have gained into practice.

“Graduation marks the beginning of a new journey for our graduates. We hope that the knowledge and experiences they gained during their studies at the Faculty of Agriculture UMPWR will not only serve as a foundation for their careers, but also become a source of strength to benefit society. Be adaptive, innovative, and committed to integrity, and have the courage to create solutions for the development of the agriculture and livestock sectors,” she said.

She further explained that challenges in the agriculture and livestock sectors continue to evolve. Technological development and digital transformation, climate change, food security and safety, as well as the growing need for sustainable agricultural and livestock systems require human resources who are not only knowledgeable, but also creative and willing to develop new solutions.

For this reason, the Faculty of Agriculture UMPWR continues to prepare graduates who are able to respond to change while taking an active role in addressing the needs of society. The knowledge gained during their studies is expected to go beyond the classroom and become practical solutions and meaningful contributions.

Meanwhile, Chair of the Graduation Committee, Rinawidiastuti, S.Pt., M.Si., said that the graduation ceremony was made possible through the cooperation and support of various parties. She hoped the occasion would become a memorable experience for the graduates while encouraging them to continue developing their skills after completing their studies.

“Congratulations to all graduates of the First Graduation Ceremony of the 2026/2027 Academic Year. Reaching this stage has certainly required hard work, perseverance, and the support of many people. This is now the gateway to the real world. We hope you will continue to embrace learning, uphold the good name of your alma mater, and have the courage to seize opportunities to create and make meaningful contributions wherever you are,” she said.

The Faculty of Agriculture UMPWR also presented awards to students with outstanding academic achievements from both study programs. Dina Afiana, S.P., from the Agribusiness Study Program, was recognized as the best graduate with a GPA of 3.87.

Dina said that graduation does not mean the learning process has come to an end. Instead, she believes that new and more concrete challenges await after completing university.

“For me, graduation is not the end of learning. In fact, we are now going to face more real challenges. I hope I can continue to develop myself, make the most of the opportunities available, and apply my agribusiness knowledge to develop businesses and initiatives that benefit society,” she said.

Meanwhile, Wahyu Dwi Yunanto, S.Pt., from the Animal Science Study Program, was named the best graduate from the program with a GPA of 3.79. For Wahyu, his experience at UMPWR provided much more than theoretical knowledge in his field.

“Today, we are not only receiving recognition for completing our education. We have also gained valuable knowledge, lessons, and experiences related to the world of animal science at UMPWR. It is not only about theories and knowledge in our field, but also about learning how to work with others, respect people, take responsibility, deal with problems, accept failure, and most importantly, learn not to give up easily,” he said.

With 40 new graduates completing their studies during this period, the Faculty of Agriculture UMPWR continues to reaffirm its commitment to producing competent graduates who are ready to contribute to development, particularly in the fields of agribusiness and animal science.

The graduates are expected not only to seek employment but also to create opportunities as entrepreneurs, successful livestock practitioners, innovators, and agents of change in their communities.

Indonesia's abundant local resources require young people who can connect knowledge, technology, entrepreneurship, and community needs. Through their education at UMPWR, graduates of the Faculty of Agriculture are expected to take part in this process, turn their knowledge into meaningful work, and contribute wherever their journey takes them.
