Universitas Muhammadiyah Purworejo (UMPWR) – A total of 282 prospective graduates from the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP) at Universitas Muhammadiyah Purworejo (UMPWR) participated in the Graduation Judiciary for Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree Candidates for the First Period of the 2026/2027 Academic Year. The event marked an important milestone as the students completed their academic journey before moving on to the next stage of their lives.

The ceremony was attended by prospective graduates from various study programs, including Indonesian Language and Literature Education (PBSI) with 51 students, English Education (PBI) with 48 students, Economics Education with 19 students, Mathematics Education with 36 students, Physics Education with 10 students, Javanese Language and Literature Education with 19 students, Automotive Engineering Education (PTO) with 35 students, Elementary School Teacher Education (PGSD) with 58 students, Master’s in English Education with 1 student, and Master’s in Mathematics Education with 5 students.

During the event, FKIP UMPWR also recognized graduates with outstanding academic achievements. At the master’s level, Afsya Meylaningsih from the Master’s Program in Mathematics Education was named the outstanding graduate with a GPA of 3.94. Meanwhile, at the bachelor’s level, the award went to Resti Andina Putri from the English Education Program with a GPA of 3.87.

Afsya Meylaningsih expressed her gratitude and pride after completing her academic journey at FKIP UMPWR. For her, the experience of pursuing higher education was not only about gaining knowledge but also about collecting experiences and valuable lessons that she will carry forward after graduation.

“Alhamdulillah, I am very grateful and proud to have completed my academic journey at FKIP UMPWR. I would like to thank all the lecturers and academic supervisors who have shared their knowledge, advice, and care throughout my studies,” Afsya said.

She also encouraged bachelor’s degree graduates not to stop at the level of education they have completed. Continuing their studies at the master’s level, she said, can be one way to keep developing themselves and broaden their knowledge and perspectives.

Meanwhile, Dean of FKIP UMPWR Dr. Riawan Yudi Purwoko, M.Pd., in his remarks, reminded the graduates that their journey in completing their final projects was about much more than simply producing a thesis.

“Perhaps one day, the thesis will simply be placed on a shelf. But hopefully, the long process of writing it will become a valuable lesson and serve as preparation for the future,” he said.

He also expressed his confidence that FKIP UMPWR graduates were ready to leave the university and return to society. Having completed their education, they would now face the real world with its various challenges and opportunities.

The future is not something to simply wait for; it is something to build. Therefore, graduates are encouraged to keep learning, adapting, and taking an active role in their respective communities.

A similar message was delivered by Vice Rector I of UMPWR, Dr. Dwi Irawati, S.E., M.Si. She reminded the graduates that the knowledge and academic competencies gained during their studies should go hand in hand with strong character and integrity.

“The knowledge you have gained should not only equip you with academic competence. Continue to uphold integrity, honesty, and responsibility, as these are important factors in achieving success,” she said.

The graduates were also encouraged to always uphold the good name of their alma mater in every step they take after completing their education.

“Give your best to your family, society, and the nation,” she added.

In addition to the messages from university and faculty leaders, further encouragement for the prospective graduates was delivered by Dr. Yuli Widiyono, M.Pd., through the theme “From Degree to Role: Becoming Resilient, Innovative, and Impactful FKIP Graduates.”

The message served as a reminder that an academic degree is not the end of the journey. Rather, after earning their degrees, graduates have a responsibility to turn the knowledge they have gained into meaningful roles, bring forward new ideas, embrace innovation, and contribute to society.

The graduation judiciary thus became a meaningful moment for the 282 prospective graduates of FKIP UMPWR to close one chapter of their academic journey while opening the door to a new one. The knowledge, experiences, and values they gained during their time at the university are expected to become a strong foundation for them to grow, contribute, and create positive impact in their respective communities.
