Universitas Muhammadiyah Purworejo (UMPWR) – Proud news comes from the Teacher Professional Education (PPG) Program at Universitas Muhammadiyah Purworejo (UMPWR). Seven PPG UMPWR students have been named among the winners of the Paper Book Chapter at the 2026 National PPG Workshop, organized by the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education at Universitas Siliwangi.

The selection was stated in the Official Minutes of the Selection of Winners of the Book Chapter Draft Essay for the 2026 National PPG Workshop, Number 1394/UN58.10/LL/2026, dated September 22, 2026. The entries were assessed by a panel of judges based on several aspects, including theme relevance, originality, writing structure, depth of discussion, language accuracy, and compliance with the writing guidelines.

The seven PPG UMPWR students who were included in the list of winners are Shalma Hermayani, Syifa Fauziah Akmal, Putri Muftiyah Nurul Hidayah, Esti Handayani, Ridho Ari Jatmiko, Bambang Ali Susanto, and Delsa Jelita Putri.

Their names appear alongside students from several other universities, including Universitas Siliwangi, Universitas Sriwijaya, Universitas Singaperbangsa Karawang, Universitas Tidar, and Universitas Halu Oleo.

Head of the PPG Study Program at UMPWR, Dr. Yuli Widiyono, M.Pd., expressed his appreciation for the students’ achievement. According to him, the accomplishment shows that PPG students are not only focused on classroom learning but also have opportunities to develop their writing skills and express their ideas through academic writing.

“We are certainly grateful for and appreciate the achievements of the PPG UMPWR students. Having seven students included in the list of winners shows that they have the ability and confidence to express their ideas through academic writing. This is a valuable experience for students to continue developing their competencies, particularly in writing and producing works that can reach a wider audience,” said Dr. Yuli.

He hopes that the achievement will not end with the competition but will encourage other PPG students to become more active in producing academic work.

“What matters most is how this experience can motivate students to keep writing. For PPG students, the ability to develop ideas, reflect, and share those reflections through writing is also part of the process of becoming teachers who continue to learn and grow,” he added.

This achievement is also part of the PPG UMPWR’s efforts to encourage students not only to develop professional competencies as prospective teachers but also to produce academic works relevant to the field of education.

For the students, participation in the 2026 National PPG Workshop also provided an opportunity to test their ideas and broaden their experience in an academic forum alongside participants from various universities across Indonesia. (akb/KP)
