Universitas Muhammadiyah Purworejo (UMPWR) – The 62nd Anniversary of Universitas Muhammadiyah Purworejo (UMPWR) provided an opportunity to recognize members of the university community who have demonstrated achievement, dedication, and contributions to the university’s development. The appreciation was presented as part of the 62nd UMPWR Anniversary Senate Open Session, held on Thursday (September 24, 2026) at the Kasman Singodimedjo Auditorium.

In addition to featuring a Scientific Speech and the UMPWR Rector’s Annual Report, the open session also served as a moment to recognize lecturers, students, and educational support staff for their achievements and positive contributions to the university.

One of the highlights of the event was the presentation of Umrah packages to three UMPWR educational support staff members. The recipients were Sudaryanto, S.T., Head of the Academic Administration Bureau; Dwi Susanto, S.Pd., Head of the General Affairs Division; and Priyo Nugroho, a member of UMPWR’s security staff.

The recipients were selected based on their length of service and active participation in practicing Al-Islam and Kemuhammadiyahan (AIK) values within the university community.

UMPWR Rector Assoc. Prof. Dr. Teguh Wibowo, M.Pd., said the award was a form of the university’s appreciation for the dedication and contributions of educational support staff in supporting UMPWR’s continued development.

“This award is an expression of appreciation for the dedication and service that have been given. Hopefully, the Umrah package will bring happiness to the recipients and their families, while also becoming part of the blessings of their service at UMPWR,” the Rector said.

He added that every member of the university community has a role to play in building and developing UMPWR. Therefore, the achievements and dedication of the university community deserve recognition as part of fostering a culture of appreciation on campus.

In addition to recognizing educational support staff, UMPWR also presented awards to outstanding lecturers and students.

The Outstanding Lecturer Award was presented to Dr. Puji Nugraheni, M.Pd., Head of the Master’s Program in Mathematics Education. Meanwhile, the Outstanding Young Lecturer Award went to Indri Nurtiyani Hakim, S.T., M.T., a lecturer in the Civil Engineering Study Program.

The assessment of outstanding lecturers was based not only on teaching performance but also on achievements in research, community service, and academic publications.

Meanwhile, the Outstanding and Impactful Student Award was presented to Tanti Trinawati from the Elementary School Teacher Education Study Program (PGSD) and Dini Aprilia from the Economics Education Study Program.

The presentation of these awards was part of the 62nd UMPWR Anniversary celebrations and reflected the university’s appreciation for the contributions of its academic and professional community. This spirit of appreciation is expected to continue growing in line with the theme of UMPWR’s 62nd Anniversary: “Growing, Resilient, and Making an Impact.”
