Universitas Muhammadiyah Purworejo (UMPWR) – The Physics Education Study Program at the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP), Universitas Muhammadiyah Purworejo (UMPWR), underwent an online Accreditation Conversion Field Assessment on Monday–Tuesday (September 21–22, 2026). The assessment is an important part of the evaluation process and ongoing quality improvement of the Physics Education Study Program.
The Field Assessment was conducted by a team of assessors from the Independent Accreditation Institute for Education (LAMDIK), namely Prof. Dr. Wahono Widodo, M.Si. from Universitas Negeri Surabaya and Prof. Dr. Winny Liliawati, S.Pd., M.Si. from Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia.
In his remarks, Chairman of the UMPWR Board of Trustees (BPH), Drs. Hamidi, M.Pd., said that the Field Assessment was an important step in efforts to improve the quality of higher education institutions and study programs.
He also expressed his appreciation to the Physics Education Study Program Task Force Team and everyone involved in preparing for the assessment.
“UMPWR is committed to continuously fostering a culture of quality, promoting good governance, improving the quality of human resources, strengthening research and community service, and enhancing services for students,” he said.
Drs. Hamidi expressed his hope that the entire assessment process would run smoothly and produce results that would contribute to the development of the Physics Education Study Program and UMPWR as a whole.
Meanwhile, UMPWR Rector Assoc. Prof. Dr. Teguh Wibowo, M.Pd., said that the Accreditation Conversion Field Assessment for the Physics Education Study Program is part of UMPWR’s ongoing efforts to improve the quality of its study programs.
He noted that three UMPWR study programs that had previously applied for accreditation conversion had successfully received an “Excellent” (Unggul) accreditation status in September 2026. The three programs are the Bachelor’s Program in Mathematics Education, the Bachelor’s Program in Elementary School Teacher Education (PGSD), and the Master’s Program in English Education.
“Alhamdulillah, the three study programs that previously applied for Excellent accreditation conversion have successfully received the Excellent status this September. We hope this achievement will also inspire and encourage the Physics Education Study Program,” he said.
According to the Rector, the Field Assessment is not merely a process of evaluating the study program. More than that, the assessment results can also serve as valuable input and recommendations for UMPWR in determining the future development of the Physics Education Study Program.
“This Field Assessment is not only about the evaluation process, but also provides recommendations for us in developing the Physics Education Study Program going forward. The challenges ahead will certainly become greater, so we must continue to make improvements and strengthen the program,” he added.
The Accreditation Conversion Field Assessment is expected to provide a comprehensive overview of the implementation of education, governance, resources, services, and various other aspects of the Physics Education Study Program. The assessment results will become an important part of UMPWR’s continued efforts to maintain and improve the quality of education in a sustainable manner.
