Universitas Muhammadiyah Purworejo (UMPWR) – The 2026 Campus Life Introduction Program for New Students (PPKKMB) and Masa Taaruf (Masta) at Universitas Muhammadiyah Purworejo (UMPWR) entered its second day. While the first day focused more on introducing new students to the campus environment, organizations, and various student activities, the second day brought them closer to the values of Islam and Muhammadiyah.

The second day was still enlivened by performances from UMPWR’s Student Activity Units (UKM). The presence of the UKMs provided an opportunity to introduce students to various spaces where they can develop their interests and talents throughout their studies at UMPWR.

The second day of Masta also placed greater emphasis on introducing Al Islam and Kemuhammadiyahan. One of the sessions featured the theme “Muhammadiyah Generation: Defining the Identity of Progressive Islam at the Campus of Civilization,” presented by Dr. Bachtiar Dwi Kurniawan, S.Fil.I., M.PA., representing the Council for Cadre Development and Human Resources of the Central Executive Board of Muhammadiyah (Pimpinan Pusat Muhammadiyah).

The session encouraged new students to understand their identity as part of the larger Muhammadiyah family while also recognizing how the values of progressive Islam can serve as an important foundation throughout their university life.

The event became even more lively with the “Muhammadiyah Time” session, featuring Muhammadiyah autonomous organizations (Ortom), namely the Muhammadiyah Student Association (IMM), Tapak Suci, and Hizbul Wathan (HW). The session introduced new students to the Muhammadiyah autonomous organizations that are also part of student life at UMPWR.

The Masta series continued with a session entitled “Becoming Muhammadiyah Students with Knowledge, Character, and Progress,” delivered by Yogi Syahputra Alidrus, Coordinator of the National Presidency of BEM PTMAI across Indonesia.

Through this session, new students were encouraged to see university life as more than simply a process of gaining academic knowledge. It is also an opportunity to build character, broaden perspectives, take an active role, and make a positive contribution to the surrounding community.

The second day of PPKKMB and Masta UMPWR 2026 thus became another important step for new students in getting to know their university identity more closely. Beyond learning about campus facilities and student activities, they were also introduced to the values that form an important part of academic life at UMPWR.

With these values as a foundation, new students are expected to embrace their university journey with a strong enthusiasm for learning, solid character, and a commitment to continue growing and contributing as part of a generation of progressive Muslims.
