Universitas Muhammadiyah Purworejo (UMPWR) – Universitas Muhammadiyah Purworejo (UMPWR), through its Quality Assurance Institute (LPM), continues to strengthen its commitment to maintaining and improving the quality of higher education. This commitment was reflected in the Academic Management Review Meeting (Rapat Tinjauan Akademik/RTM) held on Thursday, September 10, 2026, at the Seminar Room of the UMPWR Rectorate Building.

The RTM served as a follow-up to the Academic and Non-Academic Internal Quality Audit (Audit Mutu Internal/AMI) conducted several weeks earlier. During the meeting, LPM presented the audit results along with suggestions and recommendations that need to be followed up by each unit within UMPWR.

The meeting was attended by the Chair of the UMPWR Board of Trustees (BPH), members of the university leadership, LPM officials, deans, heads of study programs, heads of institutes, heads of bureaus, heads of units, and heads of laboratories across UMPWR.

Head of LPM UMPWR, Prof. Dr. Suyitno, M.Pd., emphasized that the RTM is not merely a forum to discuss audit results or document completeness. More importantly, it provides an opportunity to look at how quality is actually being implemented and continuously developed throughout the university.

“We are not only discussing the AMI results, but more importantly, we are discussing quality itself. It is not just about documents,” he said.

According to him, the RTM provides a space to determine the next steps following the AMI, particularly in identifying areas that still need improvement. He noted that UMPWR’s quality culture has continued to develop from year to year.

“The RTM is a space to determine the next steps after the AMI and identify what needs to be improved. Each year, the implementation of the quality culture at UMPWR continues to improve. At present, all the requirements needed for UMPWR to achieve an Excellent institutional accreditation status have been fulfilled, including excellent study programs, the number of lecturers holding doctoral degrees, and lecturers with the academic ranks of associate professor and professor,” he explained.

Meanwhile, Chair of the UMPWR Board of Trustees (BPH), Drs. Muh Hamidi, M.Pd., expressed his appreciation to everyone involved in the implementation of the AMI and RTM, particularly LPM and the auditors.

He emphasized that the outcomes of the RTM should not stop at suggestions and recommendations. They need to be followed up with concrete action so that they can contribute to improving quality within each unit.

“It is not just about documents. I appreciate everyone involved in this activity, especially LPM and the auditors. Hopefully, the results of this RTM will not stop at suggestions and recommendations,” he said.

A similar message was delivered by UMPWR Rector Assoc. Prof. Dr. Teguh Wibowo, M.Pd. He highlighted UMPWR’s continued progress in the accreditation of its study programs. To date, eight study programs have achieved the Excellent (Unggul) accreditation status.

“Alhamdulillah, we continue to see progress in the accreditation of our study programs, with more of them achieving the Excellent status. We now have eight study programs with Excellent accreditation,” the Rector said.

The Rector also assessed that the implementation of AMI at UMPWR has been running quite well. However, he stressed that follow-up actions based on the AMI findings and results still need to be strengthened.

“The AMI implementation at UMPWR has been quite good. What needs to be improved is the follow-up to the AMI results,” he emphasized.

Therefore, the Rector called on all study programs, units, and institutes across UMPWR to carry out improvements based on the AMI findings. These follow-up actions are expected to prevent the same shortcomings from recurring in the next AMI cycle.

“Please ensure that the improvements identified through the AMI are implemented by all study programs, units, and institutes, so that the same shortcomings do not recur in the next AMI,” he concluded.

Through the RTM, UMPWR continues to encourage its quality assurance system to go beyond administrative compliance and become an integral part of the working culture across the university community. Evaluation, improvement, and follow-up actions remain essential to maintaining UMPWR’s continuous quality improvement.
