Universitas Muhammadiyah Purworejo (UMPWR) – Less than a week after three UMPWR study programs received the Excellent rating from the Independent Accreditation Institute for Education (LAMDIK), more good news has arrived. This time, the recognition comes from the Independent Accreditation Institute for Economics, Management, Business, and Accounting (LAMEMBA).
The Management Study Program of the Faculty of Economics (FE), Universitas Muhammadiyah Purworejo (UMPWR), has successfully obtained an Excellent Accreditation rating based on Decree No. 277/DE/A.5/LAMEMBA-U/IX/2026, dated September 4, 2026.
UMPWR received the news on Monday afternoon (September 7, 2026). This achievement adds to the growing number of UMPWR study programs that have earned the Excellent rating and serves as evidence that efforts to strengthen academic quality continue to advance across various fields of study.
UMPWR Rector Assoc. Prof. Dr. Teguh Wibowo, M.Pd. welcomed the achievement with gratitude and expressed his appreciation to all parties who had worked together throughout the quality improvement process.
“Alhamdulillah, this is truly wonderful news for UMPWR. After three study programs accredited by LAMDIK received the Excellent rating earlier in September 2026, the Management Study Program has now achieved the same result from LAMEMBA. This is certainly not the result of the work of just one or two people, but the fruit of the collective efforts of the entire academic community.”
According to him, the increasing number of study programs with Excellent ratings further strengthens UMPWR’s determination to continuously improve its overall quality.
“Excellent Accreditation is not the final goal. Instead, it serves as encouragement for us to maintain quality and continue making improvements. The more study programs achieve the Excellent rating, the stronger UMPWR’s foundation will be in pursuing Excellent Institutional Accreditation (APT),” he added.
Meanwhile, Dean of the Faculty of Economics at UMPWR Intan Puspitasari, S.E., M.Sc. expressed her gratitude for the achievement attained by the Management Study Program. According to her, the Excellent rating is the result of a long process involving all elements within the Faculty of Economics.
“We are very grateful for this achievement. The Excellent rating from LAMEMBA proves that the efforts undertaken by the Management Study Program, together with the faculty and university, to improve the quality of education are beginning to show results. We would like to thank all lecturers, education staff, students, alumni, and partners who contributed their support.”
She hopes that the achievement will not stop at accreditation recognition but will truly serve as a driving force for the Faculty of Economics to continue developing.
“After receiving the Excellent rating, the next challenge is how we can maintain and improve our quality. We want to make this achievement a motivation to provide even better educational services for students and produce graduates who are genuinely needed by the workforce,” she said.
Head of the UMPWR Management Study Program Dr. Hardin, S.P., M.M. also expressed his appreciation to the entire team involved in the accreditation process. He viewed the achievement as the result of collective efforts carried out gradually and consistently.
“We are grateful to everyone who worked hard throughout this accreditation process. There were many things that had to be prepared and evaluated, and none of them could have been accomplished alone. This Excellent rating is both a source of pride and a responsibility for the Management Study Program to continue improving.”
He added that the accreditation result is expected to further increase public trust in the UMPWR Management Study Program.
“We want this achievement to provide tangible benefits, rather than merely becoming a title on paper. Going forward, we will continue strengthening learning, research, community service, partnerships, and student services. We hope that the Management Study Program will gain even greater trust and become a preferred choice for the community,” Dr. Hardin said.
The addition of the Management Study Program to UMPWR’s list of study programs with the Excellent rating further solidifies the university’s efforts to build a culture of quality within the higher education environment. This achievement also provides additional energy and motivation for the entire academic community to work together toward achieving Excellent Institutional Accreditation (APT).
With its continued achievements, UMPWR reaffirms its commitment not merely to pursuing titles, but to building sustainable quality.
