Universitas Muhammadiyah Purworejo (UMPWR) has received another piece of encouraging news. Three study programs within the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP) have officially been awarded “Excellent” Accreditation by the Independent Accreditation Institute for Education (LAMDIK) on Thursday, September 3, 2026.
The three study programs are Bachelor of Mathematics Education, Bachelor of Elementary School Teacher Education (PGSD), and Master of English Education. This achievement is not only good news for FKIP, but also an important milestone for UMPWR in strengthening academic quality and advancing toward Excellent Higher Education Institutional Accreditation (APT Unggul).
Based on LAMDIK’s decisions, the Bachelor of Mathematics Education program received the Excellent accreditation based on Decree No. 1844/SK/LAMDIK/Ak-ISK/S/IX/2026. Meanwhile, the Bachelor of Elementary School Teacher Education (PGSD) program received the same accreditation through Decree No. 1846/SK/LAMDIK/Ak-ISK/S/IX/2026.
The Master of English Education program also successfully earned Excellent Accreditation, based on Decree No. 1848/SK/LAMDIK/Ak-ISK/M/IX/2026.
The achievement of these three study programs marks another step in FKIP UMPWR’s ongoing efforts to build and strengthen a consistent culture of quality. The accreditation assessment process for the three programs was previously conducted online at the end of August 2026. The results announced today reflect the collective efforts of the entire academic community in preparing for and meeting various accreditation standards.
UMPWR Rector, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Teguh Wibowo, M.Pd., expressed his gratitude for the achievement. He said the success of the three study programs in obtaining Excellent accreditation was the result of hard work, collaboration, and a shared commitment.
“Alhamdulillah, today we have received very encouraging news. Three FKIP study programs have successfully earned Excellent Accreditation. This is certainly something we are grateful for, as it is the result of the hard work, togetherness, and commitment of the entire UMPWR academic community to maintaining and continuously improving the quality of education,” he said.
He added that the achievement should not simply be viewed as another accomplishment, but should serve as new energy for the university to continue improving its overall quality.
“We hope this achievement will motivate other study programs that are working toward Excellent accreditation. For the university, it also strengthens our determination to continue improving and working together toward Excellent Institutional Accreditation. Achieving this target requires contributions from every unit and study program, so today’s success should become a foundation for our next achievements,” Teguh added.
Meanwhile, Dean of FKIP UMPWR, Dr. Riawan Yudi Purwoko, M.Pd., welcomed the result with gratitude and appreciation for everyone involved in the accreditation process.
“Alhamdulillah, we are very grateful for the Excellent Accreditation achieved by the Mathematics Education, PGSD, and Master of English Education programs. This achievement is the result of a collective effort. It was not only the work of the accreditation teams, but also involved lecturers, education staff, students, alumni, and various parties who have consistently supported the improvement of FKIP’s quality,” he said.
According to Riawan, receiving the Excellent accreditation is not the finish line. Instead, it brings a new responsibility for FKIP to maintain and further improve the quality that has been achieved.
“Excellent accreditation is not the final destination. Rather, it gives us a greater responsibility to maintain quality and pursue continuous improvement. We also hope the success of these three study programs will encourage other study programs at UMPWR to follow the same path,” he continued.
With three additional study programs now holding Excellent accreditation, FKIP UMPWR further strengthens its role as a faculty committed to advancing academic quality. This achievement also forms an important part of UMPWR’s broader journey toward its next major target: achieving Excellent Higher Education Institutional Accreditation (APT Unggul).
For UMPWR, today’s news is about more than three accreditation certificates. More importantly, it shows that the culture of quality built collectively is beginning to produce meaningful results—and that this commitment must continue to be strengthened and sustained.
