Universitas Muhammadiyah Purworejo (UMPWR) hosted the Roadmap Mentoring Program Toward Excellent Accreditation – Batch 2, organized by the Higher Education Service Institution (LLDIKTI) Region VI of Central Java. The program was held at the Kasman Singodimedjo Auditorium, UMPWR, on Thursday, August 27, 2026, and brought together representatives from 22 private universities (PTS) across Central Java.
The program provided a shared forum for universities to receive guidance while strengthening their efforts toward Excellent (Unggul) accreditation. Through a series of presentations and panel discussions, participants were encouraged to assess their current readiness and identify more focused steps to meet the requirements for achieving the highest accreditation status.
In his welcome remarks, UMPWR Rector Dr. Teguh Wibowo, M.Pd., expressed his appreciation to LLDIKTI Region VI for choosing UMPWR as the venue for the program. He emphasized that mentoring programs such as this are important in helping universities establish a clear direction as they work toward Excellent accreditation.
“We warmly welcome all participants of the Roadmap Mentoring Program Toward Excellent Accreditation – Batch 2 to UMPWR. For us, this program is an important part of our collective effort to continuously improve the quality of higher education. At present, UMPWR has fulfilled the necessary requirements to move toward Excellent accreditation, both in terms of study programs that have achieved Excellent accreditation and the quality of our human resources, particularly our lecturers. The next step is to consolidate these achievements and strengths into a stronger and more integrated effort toward Excellent accreditation,” said Teguh.
He added that the accreditation achievements of study programs and the strengthening of lecturer quality provide an important foundation for UMPWR. However, pursuing Excellent accreditation should not stop at fulfilling the requirements. It must also be accompanied by a consistent commitment to maintaining and improving quality across different areas of the university.
Meanwhile, Head of LLDIKTI Region VI Central Java, Prof. Aisyah Endah Palupi, emphasized the importance of ensuring that every improvement initiative carried out by a university remains connected and aligned with its broader institutional direction.
“This program is important to ensure that every step of change does not move independently, but instead becomes a highly strategic part of achieving the vision of each university. Therefore, every quality improvement effort needs to be seen as part of one integrated process and directed toward the larger goals that the university seeks to achieve,” said Prof. Aisyah.
The program featured Prof. Dr. Nova Rijati and Hari Prasetyo, S.T., M.T., Ph.D. as speakers. The agenda began with a series of presentations, followed by a panel discussion that gave participants an opportunity to raise questions and discuss the conditions and challenges faced by their respective institutions.
For UMPWR, hosting the program also provided an opportunity to strengthen its network with other private universities across Central Java while learning together with LLDIKTI Region VI about strategies for strengthening institutional quality.
Through this mentoring program, participating universities are expected to gain a clearer understanding of their current position, priorities, and strategies for strengthening quality. Ultimately, the roadmap toward Excellent accreditation is expected to serve not merely as a document, but as a concrete direction for the sustainable development of each university.
