Universitas Muhammadiyah Purworejo (UMPWR) – The Undergraduate Mathematics Education Study Program, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP), Universitas Muhammadiyah Purworejo (UMPWR), continues to strengthen its commitment to improving academic quality. This effort is being pursued through the Accreditation Conversion Field Assessment as part of the program’s efforts to achieve an Excellent accreditation rating.
The field assessment is being conducted online on Saturday–Sunday, August 22–23, 2026, by a team of assessors from the Independent Accreditation Institute for Education (Lembaga Akreditasi Mandiri Kependidikan/LAMDIK). The assessment team consists of Prof. Dr. Sugiman, M.Si. as Assessor 1 and Prof. Dr. Wardani Rahayu, M.Si. as Assessor 2.
This assessment marks an important stage for the Mathematics Education Study Program in the process of converting its accreditation rating from Very Good to Excellent. Various aspects of academic program management are being assessed, including study program governance, learning implementation, human resources, research and community service, as well as student and graduate achievements.
Chair of the UMPWR Board of Trustees (Badan Pembina Harian/BPH), Drs. Hamidi, M.Pd., said that the accreditation process is not merely about obtaining a particular rating, but is part of a broader effort to continuously maintain and improve the quality of higher education.
“We hope this assessment process will run smoothly and produce the best possible results. For us, Excellent accreditation is not merely an administrative achievement, but recognition of the collective process and efforts to maintain educational quality. Therefore, everyone at UMPWR must continue to move forward and make their best contribution,” he said.
According to Hamidi, achieving an Excellent accreditation rating must also be followed by a consistent commitment to maintaining quality. In this way, the accreditation achievement should not end with the assessment results, but should be reflected in the quality of educational services received by students.

Meanwhile, UMPWR Rector Assoc. Prof. Dr. Teguh Wibowo, M.Pd., said that the field assessment provides an important opportunity for UMPWR to receive feedback and evaluation from external parties.
“We welcome the implementation of this field assessment. The Mathematics Education Study Program has made thorough preparations for this process. Whatever the outcome may be, we see this assessment as an opportunity to continue improving and strengthening quality. Our target is clear: to develop a study program with increasingly high standards that is able to provide the best educational services for students,” Teguh said.
He added that the effort to achieve Excellent accreditation is part of UMPWR’s broader agenda to foster a culture of quality across all study programs. The achievement is expected to further strengthen public trust in UMPWR, particularly in the provision of education and the preparation of future teachers and education professionals.
Although the assessment is being conducted online, UMPWR has remained fully committed to preparing all the requirements. University and faculty leaders, the study program, lecturers, education staff, students, alumni, and partners have all contributed by providing the data and information required throughout the assessment process.
For the Mathematics Education Study Program at FKIP UMPWR, this process represents another step in its continuous journey of improvement. The targeted Excellent accreditation is not merely about an accreditation label, but also about the study program’s ability to maintain the quality of learning, produce competent graduates, and remain relevant to the evolving needs of education and the changing times.
With this commitment, UMPWR hopes that the Accreditation Conversion Field Assessment for the Mathematics Education Study Program will proceed smoothly and deliver the best possible outcome for the study program, faculty, and university.
