Universitas Muhammadiyah Purworejo (UMPWR) – served as one of the hosts for the PLUT Academy 2026 Campus Roadshow, organized by the PLUT KUMKM Technical Implementation Unit (UPT) of Purworejo Regency. The event was held at the Seminar Room, UMPWR East Campus, on Thursday (August 20, 2026), and was attended by around 30 participants from the PLUT Academy program representing various private universities in Purworejo Regency.

Learning Across University Campuses

The Campus Roadshow is part of the continuing series of PLUT Academy activities, which was previously launched through an opening event. While the initial stage brought participants together for the launch, the roadshow sessions are held in rotation at universities participating in the program.

This concept not only offers participants a different learning environment but also gives them an opportunity to become more familiar with the participating campuses while exploring their respective potential and experiences.

On this occasion, UMPWR was among the universities entrusted to host one of the roadshow sessions.

UMPWR Welcomes Collaboration with PLUT

The welcome remarks on behalf of the Rector of UMPWR were delivered by the Head of the Bureau of Student Affairs, Promotion, and New Student Admissions, Dr. Hermawan, M.Pd.I. He expressed his appreciation for the trust placed by the PLUT KUMKM UPT of Purworejo Regency in selecting UMPWR as one of the Campus Roadshow venues.

“UMPWR certainly welcomes activities like this. Collaboration between universities and PLUT provides a valuable space to connect academic knowledge with hands-on entrepreneurship practices. We hope participants will not only gain new knowledge from the sessions but also take home insights that they can apply to develop their businesses,” he said.

Meanwhile, the Head of the PLUT KUMKM UPT of Purworejo Regency, Hari Sukoco, S.E., said that the Campus Roadshow was designed to provide PLUT Academy participants with more diverse learning experiences.

“Through this Campus Roadshow, we want participants to experience a different learning atmosphere and get to know the universities involved in PLUT Academy more closely. The materials have also been tailored to their needs so that they can provide more practical benefits for business development,” Hari explained.

Strengthening Brand Identity

Following the opening session, participants attended two main sessions directly related to business development. The first session, “Brand Management,” was delivered by Hubi Rahmat Andika, S.M., M.M.

During the session, participants were encouraged to view a brand as more than just a product name or logo. A brand is also closely connected to how consumers recognize, remember, and perceive a business.

The discussion on brand identity and differentiation is particularly relevant for business owners seeking to strengthen their products' position amid increasingly diverse market competition.

Focusing on Product and Packaging Innovation

The second session was delivered by Dyah Panuntun Utami, S.P., M.Sc., who presented the topic “Product and Packaging Innovation.”

Participants gained insights into the importance of continuous innovation, both in terms of products and packaging. Packaging was not viewed merely as a means of protecting a product, but also as an integral part of a marketing strategy.

Through appropriate product and packaging development, business owners are expected to enhance the appeal of their products while creating a better experience for consumers.

Discussion and Experience Sharing

The activity was conducted in an interactive atmosphere. Participants not only listened to the presentations but also took part in discussions and shared their experiences regarding various challenges they encounter in running their businesses.

The exchange of experiences became an important part of the program, particularly as participants came from diverse business backgrounds. Through the discussion sessions, they were able to explore challenges and possible solutions from different perspectives.

Strengthening University-Government Collaboration

The implementation of the PLUT Academy Campus Roadshow at UMPWR represents a form of collaboration between higher education institutions and local government in supporting the development of young people and business practitioners.

Learning directly within a university environment is also expected to provide participants with a more practical experience. The knowledge gained in brand management, product innovation, and packaging is expected to help improve the quality and competitiveness of the businesses they are developing.

The activity also reflects UMPWR’s continued commitment to creating opportunities for collaboration with various stakeholders, particularly in the areas of entrepreneurship, innovation, and community empowerment in Purworejo Regency.
