Universitas Muhammadiyah Purworejo (UMPWR) – The Dehiera team from the Student Entrepreneurship Development Program (Program Pembinaan Mahasiswa Wirausaha/P2MW) at Universitas Muhammadiyah Purworejo (UMPWR) visited By Zahra, a micro, small, and medium-sized enterprise (MSME) in the fashion sector, on Wednesday (August 19, 2026). The visit was part of the P2MW implementation process and provided the team with an opportunity to learn directly from an entrepreneur who had already gone through the process of developing a business.

By Zahra is a clothing and fashion production business founded by Qolbiana Zahra Adeputri, S.E., an alumna of UMPWR’s Management Study Program. The choice of By Zahra as the destination for the visit was also closely connected to the P2MW program. Qolbiana was previously a recipient of P2MW funding in 2023.

Her experience offered valuable lessons for the Dehiera team—not only about how to start a business, but also about how to develop and sustain it after receiving support through a student entrepreneurship program.

During the visit, the Dehiera team had a direct discussion with Qolbiana about various aspects of managing a fashion business. The discussion covered the process of determining designs, clothing production, handling customer orders, as well as her experience participating in various fashion competitions.

By Zahra is known for its creative and appealing clothing designs. In addition to producing garments for commercial orders, the business also actively participates in fashion competitions as part of its efforts to develop its skills while gaining broader experience and expanding its network.

The activity was also accompanied by Susi Widjajani, S.E., M.Si., a lecturer and mentor for the Dehiera P2MW team. She said that learning directly from business practitioners gives students a more realistic understanding than simply studying entrepreneurship through theory.

“Activities like this are important for students because they can see firsthand how a business is actually run. They can learn not only from the final products, but also from the process, including how to handle orders, determine designs, and maintain business growth. I hope the experience shared by By Zahra will provide useful input for Dehiera as they develop their business with greater confidence,” said Susi.

Meanwhile, Qolbiana Zahra Adeputri, S.E., the owner of By Zahra, welcomed the Dehiera team’s visit. She hoped that her experience as a UMPWR alumna and former P2MW recipient could provide useful insights for students currently participating in a similar program.

“I’m happy to share my experience with the Dehiera team. I was once in their position when I participated in P2MW. In my opinion, the most important thing is not to focus only on the funding, but on how the business is actually run and developed afterward. There are many things to learn along the way, including how to deal with a large number of orders or when the designs we create do not yet match what customers want,” Zahra said.

She also encouraged the Dehiera team to keep trying new things and make the most of opportunities to introduce their products to a wider audience.

“For Dehiera, keep your spirit up and don’t be afraid to try new things. If there are opportunities to join exhibitions, competitions, or activities that can help introduce your products, make the most of them. Those opportunities can often lead to new connections and experiences,” she added.

For the Dehiera team, the visit to By Zahra was more than just one of the required stages of the P2MW program. It also provided an opportunity to see firsthand the journey of an entrepreneur who had once been in the same position as a student participating in P2MW.

By Zahra’s experience in developing fashion products, handling customer orders, participating in competitions, and maintaining business continuity provided relevant lessons for Dehiera. These practices are expected to be applied to the development of Dehiera’s own business, particularly in product creativity, order management, marketing, and the confidence to participate in competitions and other entrepreneurship activities.

The visit also reflects UMPWR’s commitment to encouraging students to develop not only academic knowledge but also practical experience in building and growing businesses. Through P2MW, students are given opportunities to learn from experience, test ideas, evaluate their progress, and turn business concepts into ventures with the potential for sustainable growth.

Through this visit, Dehiera continues to move forward by learning from experienced entrepreneurs, strengthening its business development, and nurturing an entrepreneurial spirit together with UMPWR.
