Universitas Muhammadiyah Purworejo (UMPWR) — As the new management period begins, the Student Cooperative and Entrepreneurship Unit (UKM Koperasi Mahasiswa Suka Maju/KOPMA SUKMA dan Kewirausahaan) of Universitas Muhammadiyah Purworejo has strengthened the capacity of its new administrators through Diklat 3, held on Saturday–Sunday, August 8–9, 2026. The two-day activity, held at the Seminar Room of UMPWR’s East Campus, provided a space for the new administrators to learn and prepare themselves to carry out their organizational responsibilities.

Diklat 3 carried the theme “Optimizing Departmental Roles through Strategic Leadership to Achieve Effective Work Programs.” The activity was attended by the Advisor of UKM KOPMA SUKMA and Entrepreneurship, the Supervisory Board, the General Chairperson, the organizing committee, and all newly appointed administrators of UKM KOPMA SUKMA and Entrepreneurship.

More than just classroom training, Diklat 3 was designed to help participants understand how an organization works from within. The topics covered leadership, communication and coordination, organizational analysis through SWOT analysis, an introduction to the Organizational Guidelines (GBHO/Garis Besar Haluan Organisasi), and the preparation of realistic work programs tailored to the needs of each department.

Two speakers were invited to deliver the training. Ramadhan Saddam Subandrio, S.E. presented material on organizational leadership, communication, and internal coordination. Meanwhile, Dedi Runanto, S.E., M.Si. provided training on GBHO and the procedures for developing work programs.

During the main sessions, participants explored organizational leadership, communication, and internal coordination. The sessions were intended to help the new administrators develop responsible leadership while recognizing the importance of effective communication in managing an organization.

The following session focused on GBHO and the preparation of work programs. Participants were not only introduced to the concepts but were also encouraged to translate organizational goals into work programs that are clear, measurable, and feasible.

From afternoon until evening, participants took part in the Work Design Organization of KOPMA SUKMA & Entrepreneurship 2026/2027, accompanied by alumni of UKM KOPMA SUKMA and Entrepreneurship. During this session, each department developed its own work program based on its respective needs and role within the organization. The proposed programs were then presented that evening for joint feedback, evaluation, and refinement.

The atmosphere became more relaxed on the second day, Sunday, August 9, 2026, as participants took part in a series of fun games designed to build team spirit, improve communication, strengthen teamwork, and develop leadership skills. The activities also provided an opportunity for the administrators to build stronger personal connections beyond their formal organizational responsibilities.

Diklat 3 marked an important first step in aligning the vision and commitment of the new administrators. Each department is expected not to work independently, but to remain connected and support one another so that organizational programs can be implemented effectively.

One of the participants said that the training provided valuable new insights after taking part in the entire series of activities.

“Through Diklat 3, I gained a lot of new insights into leadership, communication, and how to develop effective work programs. The activity also helped me better understand how to prepare work programs, recognize my role within my department, and understand the importance of working together with other administrators,” the participant said.

Through Diklat 3, UKM KOPMA SUKMA and Entrepreneurship UMPWR hopes that its new administrators will not only understand their respective duties and responsibilities, but will also be able to manage the organization through strategic leadership, effective communication, and strong teamwork.

Ultimately, a good work program is not simply about how many activities an organization can carry out. More importantly, every program should respond to the organization’s actual needs, be developed and implemented collaboratively, and provide meaningful benefits for its members and the continued development of UKM KOPMA SUKMA and Entrepreneurship UMPWR.
