Universitas Muhammadiyah Purworejo (UMPWR) has once again recorded an important achievement in strengthening university governance. Following an audit of its financial statements, UMPWR received an Unqualified Opinion (Wajar Tanpa Pengecualian/WTP) on its financial statements for the 2024/2025 Fiscal Year, covering the financial period from September 1, 2024, to August 31, 2025.
The audit was conducted by Public Accounting Firm (KAP) Drs. Abdul Muntalib & Yunus, holding a license from the Minister of Finance of the Republic of Indonesia under Decree Number KEP-124/KM.1/2016.
In its audit report, KAP Drs. Abdul Muntalib & Yunus stated that it had audited UMPWR’s financial statements, which include the statement of financial position as of August 31, 2025, statement of comprehensive income, statement of changes in net assets, statement of cash flows for the year then ended, and notes to the financial statements, including a summary of significant accounting policies.
Based on the audit, the auditors stated that UMPWR’s financial statements present fairly, in all material respects, the financial position of Universitas Muhammadiyah Purworejo as of August 31, 2025, as well as its financial performance and cash flows for the year then ended, in accordance with the Indonesian Financial Accounting Standards for Private Entities.
This statement forms an important basis for UMPWR’s receipt of the Unqualified Opinion. For UMPWR, the achievement is more than simply a recognition of its financial statements. The opinion reflects the university’s ongoing efforts to ensure that financial management is transparent, accountable, and properly managed.
Head of the UMPWR Finance Bureau, Dr. Anita Rinawati, M.Pd., said the audit result serves both as an appreciation and an evaluation of the university’s financial management practices.
“Alhamdulillah, UMPWR has received an Unqualified Opinion. We are certainly grateful for this achievement, and at the same time, it motivates the Finance Bureau to continue improving the quality of financial management and reporting. We strive to ensure that every process is carried out in an orderly and transparent manner and in accordance with applicable regulations,” Anita said.
According to her, the achievement would not have been possible without the collective efforts of all units across UMPWR. Preparing financial statements requires accuracy as well as strong coordination, making this achievement a shared accomplishment rather than the success of a single bureau.
Meanwhile, Vice Rector II for Human Resources and Finance, Dr. Muhamad Taufik, M.T., said the Unqualified Opinion is an important indicator of the quality of university governance, particularly in financial management.
“The Unqualified Opinion is certainly good news for UMPWR. However, what is more important is how we use this result as a foundation for continuously improving financial governance. We want sound financial management to be more than something that looks good during an audit; it should become part of our culture in every process across the university,” Taufik explained.
He added that strengthening financial governance is closely connected to UMPWR’s efforts to build greater trust among its stakeholders. Transparency and financial accountability are integral parts of healthy university governance.
Rector of UMPWR, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Teguh Wibowo, M.Pd., welcomed the audit result. He said the Unqualified Opinion reflects the collective efforts and commitment of the entire academic community and administrative staff in upholding the responsibility entrusted to the university.
“Alhamdulillah, we are grateful for receiving the Unqualified Opinion. This demonstrates that our efforts to build transparent and accountable financial governance have received a positive assessment from the auditors,” Teguh said.
The Rector emphasized that the achievement should not lead UMPWR to stop improving. Instead, the audit result should encourage the university to maintain what has been done well while continuing to address areas that still need improvement.
“For us, the Unqualified Opinion is not the final destination. It is part of an ongoing process to ensure that the responsibility entrusted to UMPWR is managed as well as possible. Going forward, we will continue strengthening governance, improving accountability, and ensuring that financial management supports the university’s strategic goals,” he added.
With the achievement of the Unqualified Opinion, UMPWR further reaffirms its commitment to building healthy, transparent, and responsible university governance. The achievement is expected to provide renewed momentum for everyone at UMPWR to continuously improve institutional management and move forward in its pursuit of becoming an increasingly excellent university.
