Universitas Muhammadiyah Purworejo (UMPWR) – Universitas Muhammadiyah Purworejo (UMPWR) continues to strengthen its efforts to maintain and improve the quality of education. Through the Quality Assurance Institute (LPM), UMPWR held the Academic Internal Quality Audit (AMI) Visitations based on MOQASS/QUMON (Quality Management Online) for the 2025/2026 Academic Year, on Tuesday–Wednesday (August 11–12, 2026), at the Seminar Room of the Rectorate Building, East Campus of UMPWR.

The AMI is an annual activity that forms part of UMPWR’s ongoing efforts to develop and strengthen a culture of quality across the university. This year’s audit covers all faculties and study programs at both undergraduate (S1) and master’s (S2) levels.

Head of LPM UMPWR, Prof. Dr. Suyitno, M.Pd., explained in his remarks that the AMI series began in June 2026. The process started with the completion of MOQASS and the designated assessment instruments, followed by the audit and visitation stages.

“AMI is not intended to judge anyone. Rather, it provides a space for all of us to reflect. Through this process, we can identify what has been done well and what still needs to be improved,” Suyitno said.

He explained that this year’s AMI involved 18 auditors who audited 18 study programs as well as 35 institutions, bureaus, and units across UMPWR. Prior to the audit, LPM also conducted an auditor harmonization process to ensure a shared understanding and to maintain consistency in implementing the audit according to established standards.

The university’s quality assurance program will continue with the Non-Academic Internal Quality Audit on August 18–19, 2026. The results of the entire AMI process will subsequently serve as input for the Management Review Meeting (RTM), scheduled for August 26, 2026.

Meanwhile, UMPWR Rector, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Teguh Wibowo, M.Pd., who officially opened the AMI, expressed his appreciation to LPM for consistently carrying out quality assurance processes in both academic and non-academic areas.

“Thank you to LPM for conducting both academic and non-academic AMI. We agree that AMI is not about judging, but rather serves as an instrument for us to continuously improve,” Teguh said.

He emphasized that the success of AMI does not depend solely on the auditors. Collaboration between auditors and the faculties, study programs, and audited units is essential to ensure that the evaluation process leads to meaningful and measurable improvements.

“Quality culture is our shared responsibility. Therefore, collaboration between auditors and the relevant units is essential. AMI should not be viewed merely as an administrative activity, but as part of our collective effort to continuously improve the quality of UMPWR,” he explained.

Furthermore, the Rector emphasized that AMI is also a strategic step for UMPWR in preparing for Institutional Accreditation (APT). Therefore, the audit results are expected not to stop at findings and recommendations, but to be followed up with concrete improvements by the relevant units.

Through the consistent and continuous implementation of AMI, UMPWR is committed to making quality assurance more than an administrative obligation. It is expected to become an integral part of the university’s working culture. In this way, every finding, evaluation, and recommendation can serve as a foundation for providing increasingly better educational services. (akb/KP)
