Universitas Muhammadiyah Purworejo (UMPWR) continues to reinforce its role as a higher education institution contributing to regional development by organizing the Bina Talenta Workshop: Building a Research and Innovation Commercialization Ecosystem in Purworejo Regency on Wednesday (August 5, 2026). The workshop served as a strategic forum that brought together representatives from academia, government, industry, and the community to strengthen collaboration in transforming research outcomes into innovations that deliver tangible benefits to society.

Research Must Create Real Impact

The workshop was officially opened by the Rector of UMPWR, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Teguh Wibowo, M.Pd. In his opening remarks, he emphasized that universities have a responsibility to ensure that research outcomes extend beyond academic publications and contribute meaningful solutions to societal challenges.

"Research conducted at universities should generate tangible benefits. Therefore, commercialization is a crucial step to ensure that research findings do not remain solely in scientific publications but evolve into innovations that positively impact society and regional development," he stated.

The Rector further explained that establishing a strong research ecosystem requires the active collaboration of all stakeholders. Synergy among universities, government institutions, industry, and the community forms the foundation for sustainable innovation.
