Universitas Muhammadiyah Purworejo (UMPWR) – The Management Study Program, Faculty of Economics, Universitas Muhammadiyah Purworejo (UMPWR), underwent a Site Assessment conducted by the Independent Accreditation Agency for Economics, Management, Business, and Accounting (LAMEMBA) on August 5–6, 2026. The assessment marks an important stage in the accreditation process and reflects UMPWR's ongoing commitment to fostering a sustainable culture of quality.
The Site Assessment was carried out by two LAMEMBA assessors: Dr. Rina Astini, M.M. from Mercu Buana University and Dr. Mukaram, S.E., M.Ed. from Bandung State Polytechnic. Over the course of two days, the assessors verified and confirmed the data and evidence related to the implementation of the Management Study Program, as documented in the Self-Evaluation Report (SER) and the Study Program Performance Report.
The opening ceremony was attended by the Board of Trustees, university leaders, faculty officials, lecturers, administrative staff, students, alumni, and industry partners.
In his opening remarks, the Chairman of the UMPWR Board of Trustees, Drs. Hamidi, M.Pd., welcomed the assessment team and expressed his appreciation for their visit. He emphasized that the Site Assessment should be viewed not merely as an accreditation requirement but as an opportunity for evaluation and continuous learning to strengthen the university's quality culture.
"We sincerely welcome and thank the LAMEMBA assessors for visiting UMPWR. This Site Assessment is more than an evaluation process; it is an opportunity to reinforce our quality culture so that the Management Study Program continues to grow as an excellent, adaptive, and Islamic values-based program that contributes meaningfully to society. I encourage the entire accreditation team to approach this process with sincerity, openness, and a genuine commitment to continuous improvement. Hopefully, our collective efforts will lead to the best possible outcome," he stated.
UMPWR Rector, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Teguh Wibowo, M.Pd., officially inaugurated the Site Assessment. In his address, he highlighted the significant progress achieved by the Management Study Program in recent years, both academically and institutionally.
He noted that the Management Study Program is among the university's most sought-after programs for new student admissions, alongside the Elementary School Teacher Education (PGSD) Study Program. In addition, the program has actively expanded its international engagement through collaborative research projects with partner institutions in Malaysia and the Philippines.
"The Management Study Program has demonstrated remarkable progress. Student interest continues to increase, international collaborations have been successfully established, and our graduates have an impressive employment waiting period of less than six months. These achievements reflect the strong commitment of our academic community to building a sustainable culture of quality," the Rector remarked.

Assessor Dr. Rina Astini explained that the primary purpose of the Site Assessment was to verify the information submitted by the study program to LAMEMBA. She emphasized that the accreditation process is conducted objectively, transparently, and with a focus on quality enhancement.
"Our role is to confirm the information presented in the Self-Evaluation Report. Accreditation is conducted openly, and we encourage the study program to present its actual conditions honestly. We are not here to judge or lecture, but to provide opportunities for improvement and further development," she explained.
Sharing the same perspective, Dr. Mukaram stated that the Site Assessment is part of a continuous quality improvement process.
"Our visit is not only an opportunity to strengthen our professional relationship but also to verify the information submitted to LAMEMBA. The guiding principle of this assessment is continuous improvement—ensuring that today's performance is better than yesterday's and that future achievements will be even greater," he said.
The Site Assessment represents a collective effort by the Management Study Program and the entire UMPWR academic community to strengthen institutional governance and academic quality. UMPWR hopes that the Management Study Program will achieve Excellent Accreditation, following the success of the Automotive Engineering Education Study Program (PTO) and the Indonesian Language and Literature Education Study Program (PBSI), both of which earned Excellent Accreditation in June 2026.
Achieving this milestone would further strengthen UMPWR's academic excellence and support the university's broader goal of obtaining Excellent Institutional Accreditation in 2026, reaffirming its commitment to delivering high-quality, competitive, and impactful higher education.
