Universitas Muhammadiyah Purworejo (UMPWR) – The Mathematics Education Study Program of Universitas Muhammadiyah Purworejo (UMPWR) successfully hosted SENDIKA (Seminar Pendidikan Matematika/Mathematics Education Seminar) 2026 virtually via Zoom Meeting on Saturday (July 25, 2026). This annual seminar has become one of the program's flagship academic events, consistently serving as a platform for knowledge sharing and the dissemination of research findings among lecturers, teachers, researchers, and students.

Promoting the spirit of academic collaboration, SENDIKA 2026 featured two distinguished keynote speakers: Dr. Andriyani, M.Si., Head of the Master's Program in Mathematics Education at Ahmad Dahlan University (UAD), Yogyakarta, and Dr. Erni Puji Astuti, M.Pd., a lecturer in the Mathematics Education Study Program at UMPWR. The seminar was attended by 80 participants, consisting of 53 non-presenters and 27 presenters who showcased their research papers in parallel presentation sessions.

The event commenced with keynote presentations by the invited speakers, who discussed current issues and recent developments in mathematics education. The seminar continued with an engaging discussion and question-and-answer session before proceeding to parallel sessions, where presenters shared their research articles and exchanged ideas with fellow participants.

Chair of the SENDIKA 2026 Organizing Committee, Dr. Heru Kurniawan, M.Pd., emphasized that the seminar is more than just an annual academic event. It also reflects the Mathematics Education Study Program's commitment to fostering a productive academic culture.

"We designed SENDIKA as a forum where ideas, experiences, and research findings from diverse backgrounds can come together. We hope this event not only broadens participants' perspectives but also encourages collaboration and scientific publications that make meaningful contributions to the advancement of mathematics education," he said.

A similar view was expressed by Prima Dwinata, a Mathematics Education student who also served on the organizing committee. According to him, SENDIKA 2026 is more than a conventional seminar; it is a collaborative learning space that provides researchers, lecturers, teachers, and students with opportunities to present and disseminate their research to a broader academic audience.

Meanwhile, Wharyanti Ika Purwaningsih, M.Pd., Head of the Undergraduate Mathematics Education Study Program at UMPWR, stated that organizing SENDIKA is one of the program's strategic efforts to enhance academic quality while strengthening the research culture within higher education.

"Through SENDIKA, we aim to build an active and collaborative academic ecosystem. This seminar provides students with opportunities to learn from academics and practitioners while developing their confidence in presenting scholarly work. We hope the event will continue to grow and bring even greater benefits to the field of mathematics education," she remarked.

Through the successful organization of SENDIKA 2026, the Mathematics Education Study Program at UMPWR once again reaffirmed its commitment to advancing knowledge through sustainable academic activities. Beyond broadening participants' perspectives, the seminar also strengthened academic networks and promoted a culture of research and scientific publication among lecturers, teachers, researchers, and students.
