Universitas Muhammadiyah Purworejo (UMPWR) once again demonstrated its excellence at the national level. A delegation of UMPWR students brought home three prestigious awards at the Studentpreneur Bootcamp Muhammadiyah Center for Entrepreneurship and Business Incubator (MCEBI) 2026, held from July 17–19, 2026, at Universitas Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM) and Sengkaling Recreational Park, Malang.

Studentpreneur Bootcamp MCEBI 2026 was organized by the Muhammadiyah Center for Entrepreneurship and Business Incubator (MCEBI) in collaboration with the Council for Higher Education, Research, and Development (Diktilitbang) of the Central Board of Muhammadiyah. The program brought together hundreds of student entrepreneurs from Muhammadiyah and 'Aisyiyah Higher Education Institutions (PTMA) across Indonesia to strengthen their business capabilities, expand professional networks, and enhance their entrepreneurial competencies.

Throughout the three-day program, participants engaged in a series of activities designed to develop entrepreneurial skills, including national seminars, workshops, business mentoring sessions, product exhibitions, interactive discussions, and business proposal and product competitions.

The first day, held at GKB 4 Building of Universitas Muhammadiyah Malang, featured the opening ceremony, a public lecture, and a national seminar. One of the highlights was a keynote session by the Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Indonesia, Dr. Ir. H. Andi Amran Sulaiman, M.P., who encouraged Muhammadiyah's younger generation to become resilient, innovative, and ethical entrepreneurs capable of supporting national food security and economic development.

The event was officially opened by Prof. Dr. Fauzan, M.Pd., Deputy Minister of Higher Education, Science, and Technology of the Republic of Indonesia. In his remarks, Prof. Fauzan emphasized the importance of fostering an entrepreneurial mindset among university students to prepare them for global challenges while encouraging innovations that generate meaningful contributions to society. The seminar also featured speakers from the Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries, the National Consumer Protection Agency (BPKN), Bank Indonesia, and the Diktilitbang Council of Muhammadiyah.

On the second day, held at Sengkaling Recreational Park, participants attended workshops and business mentoring sessions led by mentors from the Ministry of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), industry practitioners, and academics. The program continued with a product exhibition and business competition, where each team presented its business innovation before a panel of judges.

The final day featured an Interactive Young Entrepreneurs Forum with Dr. Ir. David Hermawan, M.P., IPM., Head of the Agricultural and Fisheries Industry Division of the East Java Muhammadiyah Regional Economic Council. The session provided valuable insights into business innovation, networking strategies, and sustainable business development. The event concluded with the announcement of winners and the award presentation ceremony, led by Dr. Nur Subeki, S.T., M.T., Vice Rector III of Universitas Muhammadiyah Malang.

At the competition, UMPWR was represented by three student teams: EcoCyl in the cultivation category, EcoDama in the craft category, and Sini Jajan in the digital services category. All three teams participated in the mentoring process and competition as part of their efforts to strengthen entrepreneurial capacity and further develop their business innovations.

The results were impressive. EcoCyl won First Place in the Cultivation Business Proposal Category and Second Place in the Cultivation Product Category. Meanwhile, EcoDama secured Third Place in the Craft Business Proposal Category.

These achievements demonstrate that the innovation and creativity of UMPWR students are highly competitive among students from Muhammadiyah and 'Aisyiyah universities nationwide.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Teguh Wibowo, M.Pd., Rector of Universitas Muhammadiyah Purworejo, expressed his appreciation for the students' accomplishments, noting that the awards reflected their dedication, creativity, and courage in developing innovative business ideas.

"These achievements demonstrate that UMPWR students possess tremendous potential to compete at the national level. We hope this success will inspire other students to continue innovating, strengthen their entrepreneurial mindset, and create sustainable business solutions that benefit society," he said.

Echoing this sentiment, Susi Widjajani, S.E., M.Si., Head of the Entrepreneurship and Business Incubator Unit of UMPWR, stated that the students' achievements were the result of the university's continuous efforts to nurture entrepreneurial talent. According to her, Studentpreneur Bootcamp MCEBI is not merely a competition but also a valuable learning platform where students gain practical experience in developing their businesses.

"The achievements earned by our students at Studentpreneur Bootcamp MCEBI 2026 demonstrate that their business ideas are of high quality and capable of competing at the national level. Beyond winning awards, this program provides invaluable opportunities for students to validate their innovations, expand their networks, and receive direct feedback from experienced mentors and business practitioners," Susi explained.

She further emphasized that the Entrepreneurship and Business Incubator Unit would continue strengthening its support for students interested in entrepreneurship, enabling them to build sustainable businesses that create tangible social and economic impact.

"We hope this success will inspire more students to take the initiative in starting their own businesses, continue innovating, and make the most of the entrepreneurial development programs available at UMPWR. Through these efforts, we aspire to nurture more young entrepreneurs who will contribute to Indonesia's economic growth and development," she added.

The participation and achievements of the UMPWR delegation at Studentpreneur Bootcamp MCEBI 2026 reaffirm the university's commitment to cultivating an entrepreneurial ecosystem that produces innovative, adaptive, and competitive graduates. Through strategic partnerships, continuous mentoring, and sustained support for student-led business development, UMPWR remains dedicated to preparing future entrepreneurs who not only create employment opportunities but also make meaningful contributions to society and the national economy.
