Universitas Muhammadiyah Purworejo (UMPWR) – The Student Activity Unit (UKM) of Choir Music, Paduan Suara Mahasiswa (PSM) Surya Sagitta, successfully held its Grand Concert on Sunday, June 21, 2026, at Kasman Singodimedjo Auditorium, UMPWR. The event served as a platform for artistic appreciation, showcasing not only the musical excellence of its members but also the tangible result of months of dedication, intensive rehearsals, and collective teamwork.

The concert involved all board members, committee members, and active members of PSM Surya Sagitta as both organizers and main performers. The event was attended by members of the university rectorate and campus leadership, the UKM advisor, representatives of student organizations (Ormawa), alumni, external delegates including winners of the Nadayatra competition, as well as members of the general public. Approximately 150 audience members filled the auditorium and enjoyed the performance until the very end.

This concert carried several important objectives. Beyond serving as a platform for artistic expression, it also functioned as an evaluation stage for PSM Surya Sagitta members to further develop their vocal techniques and organizational skills through a large-scale performance. More importantly, the concert was designed to present a choral performance that conveyed profound messages about love, loss, and personal transformation, in line with its central theme, “To Love, To Lose, To Become.”

The concert also became an important momentum to strengthen the presence of PSM Surya Sagitta while fostering closer connections with the academic community, alumni, and the wider public.

During the main performance session, PSM Surya Sagitta presented a series of song repertoires arranged in a powerful emotional narrative. Each song felt like a chapter in an interconnected story. The audience was immersed in a magnificent stage atmosphere, enhanced by dramatic lighting and beautiful vocal harmonies. From the opening song to the final performance, the auditorium was filled with a solemn yet warm atmosphere, rich with emotion.

Evita Herikusuma Adhin, the Public Relations Officer of the event, expressed her gratitude for the concert’s success.

“This concert is the result of our dedication and months of intensive rehearsals. Seeing the auditorium full and watching the audience enjoy every harmony we delivered made all our hard work feel completely worthwhile,” she said.

Appreciation also came from audience members who were deeply impressed by both the performance quality and the concert concept.

“PSM Surya Sagitta’s performance tonight was truly extraordinary and deeply emotional. The concept of The Sanctuary of Pranaya was beautifully delivered through the transitions between each song,” said one audience member.

Through this concert, PSM Surya Sagitta once again demonstrated that music is more than just entertainment—it is a powerful medium to express emotions, unite feelings, and create meaningful experiences that leave lasting impressions on every listener.
