Universitas Muhammadiyah Purworejo (UMPWR), through its Quality Assurance Institute (LPM), continues to strengthen quality assurance governance within the university. One of the strategic efforts undertaken was a benchmarking visit on the Internal Quality Assurance System (SPMI) to Universitas Muhammadiyah Makassar (Unismuh Makassar) on Thursday, June 18, 2026.
During the visit, UMPWR was directly represented by Prof. Dr. Suyitno, Head of UMPWR’s Quality Assurance Institute (LPM). The visit took place alongside his attendance at the Seminar on the Results of the 2025 Kosabangsa Program Implementation, which was also held at Unismuh Makassar.
Prof. Suyitno was warmly welcomed by Dr. Wahyuddin, Head of the Accreditation Division of Unismuh Makassar, along with his team. The meeting was held in a friendly yet productive atmosphere, featuring discussions focused on strengthening SPMI implementation, strategies for sustainable quality improvement, and best practices in managing both institutional and study program accreditation.
Through this benchmarking activity, UMPWR’s Quality Assurance Institute gained valuable insights into the quality management system implemented at Unismuh Makassar, including strategies for maintaining a consistent quality culture across all university units.
Prof. Suyitno stated that benchmarking activities like this play an important role in the institutional learning process for continuous development.
“Benchmarking is not merely a comparative study, but a collaborative learning space to observe best practices that have been successfully implemented in other higher education institutions. We aim to bring the insights and experiences from Unismuh Makassar to further strengthen the implementation of SPMI at UMPWR, so that a culture of quality truly becomes embedded in every aspect of university governance,” said Prof. Suyitno.
He added that strengthening the quality assurance system is a crucial foundation for higher education institutions in maintaining the quality of education, research, and community service.
Through this activity, UMPWR reaffirmed its commitment to continuously improving the quality of institutional governance. With a stronger quality culture, UMPWR remains optimistic about enhancing its competitiveness while delivering excellent higher education services for the entire academic community. (akb/KP).
