Universitas Muhammadiyah Purworejo (UMPWR) once again achieved a proud national accomplishment through its participation in the 4th Entrepreneurship Expo and National Competition (EKKN #4) 2026, organized by Tidar University on June 10–11, 2026, at the Sidotopo Campus Complex in Magelang. The event, which featured 170 exhibition booths and participants from 24 universities across Indonesia, served as a strategic platform for students to showcase business innovations, expand networks, and strengthen their entrepreneurial competencies.
At the event, UMPWR sent four outstanding student business tenants: Dehiera, Lemongrass Oil, OMM Burger, and Elixir Brew.Co. These ventures have been nurtured by the Entrepreneurship and Business Incubator Unit (UKIB) of UMPWR, which consistently promotes the growth of creative and competitive young entrepreneurs.
Among the four participating tenants, two successfully earned national awards. Lemongrass Oil won Second Place in the Herbal Medicine, Supplement, and Pharmaceutical Category, while OMM Burger secured Third Place in the Staple Food Category. These achievements demonstrate that the innovation and creativity of UMPWR students are capable of competing and gaining recognition at the national level.
In addition to participating in the competition, the delegates took advantage of the opportunity to promote their flagship products to visitors, academics, business practitioners, and fellow participants from various universities. Through this event, students gained valuable experience in building networks, expanding business insights, and strengthening their spirit of innovation based on local potential.
The Head of UMPWR’s Entrepreneurship and Business Incubator Unit, Susi Widjajani, S.E., M.Si., expressed her appreciation for the students’ achievements.
“The achievements attained by UMPWR’s tenants at EKKN 2026 are the result of the students’ hard work, creativity, and commitment in developing innovative businesses. We hope that this experience of competing at the national level will further motivate students to continue improving their products, expanding their business networks, and building a strong entrepreneurial mindset.”
According to her, participation in national events such as EKKN is not solely focused on winning awards but also serves as a practical learning experience in developing sustainable businesses that can adapt to market developments.
Meanwhile, the Vice Rector for Student Affairs of UMPWR, Budi Setiawan, S.Sos., M.Si., stated that the achievement reflects the synergy between students, academic mentors, and various student development programs implemented by the university.
“This success demonstrates that UMPWR students are capable of competing and excelling at the national level. We highly appreciate the efforts of our delegates who have brought honor to the university. We hope this achievement will inspire other students to continue creating, innovating, and contributing in various fields, particularly entrepreneurship.”
He further emphasized that UMPWR remains committed to supporting student development through various mentoring, coaching, and competition facilitation programs aimed at producing graduates who are excellent, well-rounded, and possess a strong entrepreneurial spirit.
The achievements of Lemongrass Oil and OMM Burger are expected to inspire all UMPWR students to continue developing their creativity, building innovative businesses, and confidently competing at both national and international levels. These accomplishments further reinforce UMPWR’s commitment to creating a productive and competitive entrepreneurial ecosystem on campus, in line with the university’s vision of producing outstanding graduates with an entrepreneurial mindset.
