Universitas Muhammadiyah Purworejo (UMPWR) — through the Student Activity Unit of the Indonesian Red Cross Volunteer Corps (KSR PMI Unit UMPWR), in collaboration with PMI Kabupaten Purworejo, once again organized a two-day blood donation drive on Tuesday–Wednesday, June 2–3, 2026. Held at the Seminar Room of UMPWR East Campus, the event received enthusiastic participation from various groups, including students, lecturers, university staff, and the general public of Purworejo Regency.
This blood donation activity is a regular program carried out as part of the commitment of KSR PMI Unit UMPWR to support humanitarian actions and strengthen social awareness within both the campus environment and the wider community. Through its collaboration with PMI Kabupaten Purworejo, the program is expected to help fulfill the blood supply needs for people in need.
In addition to increasing blood reserves at PMI, the activity also served as a means to strengthen social relationships between students and the community. The values of mutual cooperation, solidarity, and compassion for others continue to be promoted through humanitarian activities such as blood donation.
The event took place in an orderly and enthusiastic atmosphere. Participants smoothly completed all stages, from health screening to the blood donation process itself. The support and professionalism of the committee members and medical staff also provided comfort and convenience for all attendees.
One of the blood donors expressed happiness in being able to participate in the event.
“I am happy to participate in this blood donation activity. The process was quick, the staff were friendly, and I feel proud to be able to help others in need.”
Another participant also shared appreciation for the organization of the blood donation drive on campus.
“The service provided was excellent, and the process did not take much time. I will try to participate again in the next blood donation activity.”
Through this activity, KSR PMI Unit UMPWR hopes that the spirit of sharing and social awareness will continue to grow among the academic community and society at large. Blood donation is not only a humanitarian act, but also a real contribution to helping save lives. With the spirit of “a drop of blood for life,” this activity is expected to provide broad benefits and inspire more people to actively participate in humanitarian and social initiatives.
